Morning Glory on Mount Hermon-L001
Defiant Juniper at Sunrise-L002
A sleepless night camping in the arid high mountain Hermel region rewarded us with a wonderful sunrise. Serenity woke up with us during that sunrise. The first rains arrived that day... Could we ask for more ?

A peculiar misty dusk where all color seemed beautifully muted as I made my way by the magnanimous Jabal Al-Sheikh or Mount Hermon.

Man's reach has taken its toll on many regions in our beloved Lebanon. But not quite yet ! Among the snow-dressed arid highlands in the background, you feel the combined might and beauty of untamed nature vs. the frailty of mankind.

Desert Highland - L038
The harsh desert-like high mountain terrain seen here is actually a water super-well. Snow forms a thick blanket in winter, a lot of which is absorbed into the depths of the Western Lebanon mountain range making its way to springs. It is hard to imagine given the stark and dry scene, and a reminder that what you see is not always what you get.
Ammiq and the Sheikh
The significance of these marshes in Ammiq cannot be more emphasized. They provide a crucial pit-stop for breeding and food for millions of migratory birds, all under the grace of Jabal Al-Sheikh (aka Mount Hermon).
