The Passing
The Pordoi Pass is labelled after Sasso Pordoi, a rocky nearly flat-top mountain typically called a mesa (or table-top) in geological lingo. The terrain is akin to an alien planet. In fact, fossils are not uncommon to spot here.
The views towards Marmolada (hidden behind the clouds), the Sella Group, Sasso Lungo/Piato are no less phenomenal. Good reason to call it the terrace of the Dolomites.
